Rancie is named partner at Kirton McConkie

CREW Utah member Jessica Rancie, was recently named a partner at Kirton McConkie.

Rancie, who has been with the firm for eight years, is the first female partner in the firm’s real estate section, and she is one of four female partners out of the firm’s 94 total partners.

“I worked pretty hard in the month leading up to the [partner] vote,” Rancie said. After the vote, she celebrated with all the secretaries she’s had during her time at Kirton McConkie. “We came into my office and opened up a bottle of non-alcoholic bubbly and had a drink and cheers-ed”.

Being named a partner was the culmination of years of work that began when she started at Kirton McConkie as an intern after completing a master’s of international law at Brigham Young University. Her intern desk was in the real estate section, and as she got to know those attorneys, they invited her to join their section.

Her expertise is master planned developments, and she is wrapping up work on a 3,000-acre project in Arizona now. That development will include single- and multi-family housing, parks, schools, commercial centers, golf courses and lakes.

Rancie, who is a director of CREW Utah and chairs the marketing committee, was also a finalist for 2018 real estate attorney of the year from the Utah chapter of CCIM. She also serves on Kirton McConkie’s Women’s Advancement Committee, which is re-evaluating policies at the firm to retain its good female attorneys.
