December's Elevate Scholarship Winner!

13 December 2016

CREW Utah would like to congratulate Alexis Suggs as the most recent Elevate Scholarship winner.

Alexis was awarded her BS degree in Architectural studies with honors this past May. She is now in the Master of Architecture program with an anticipated graduation in May of 2018. Alexis is the recipient of the Undergraduate Research Scholar Designation (URSD) Award. This is given to a student that has successfully completed two semesters of research, published a journal and has presented their research at a conference. She wrote and authored an article titled “Passive Cooling Strategies for Utah” which was published in the U of U Journal of undergraduate research. Her student project was chosen among 3 others to be blended into the master plan for the U of U Arts and Architecture library plaza.

Ms. Suggs has continually been on the Dean’s list throughout her college career. She is currently working at Brach Design Architecture as an Architectural intern. She is also involved with the Deans student council, LIA (Latinos in action) and working with young students at the middle school level.

Cathy Shipley stated, “As the chair of the Scholarship Committee, this was a close race but we felt that Alexis had the advantage with the criteria that we use to select a winner. She is a stellar candidate and will be a great asset to CREW Utah and CREW National.” Alexis will be a huge asset to CREW Utah and we welcome her to our organization.

We would also like to recognize Kip Paul with Cushman Wakefield on his 5 year financial commitment to CREW Utah and to the success of Women in Commercial Real Estate.
