Job Description Summary

The Senior Research Analyst is responsible for all local research output. This position provides support in developing pitch and/or proposal materials as well as local thought leadership. The Senior Research Analyst is accountable for accurate and proactive maintenance of third party and proprietary databases. The position will serve as quality control auditor to ensure accuracy of reports, data and adherence to corporate standards.

Job Description


  • Conduct all research activities within local office and market
  • Share best practices within and across market or offices
  • Work with Research Director to fulfill all research requests
  • Manage research databases
  • Update and audit Cushman & Wakefield’s proprietary database 
  • Prepare statistics and analysis for quarterly market reports 
  • Develop local thought leadership and publicize market trends and analysis
  • Support development of local thought leadership and forecasting and contribute to national thought leadership and work with forecasting team on unique market and industry trends 
  • Provide research information for use by Managing Principal and Brokers in media interviews
  • Participate in development of local requests for research information for pitch and/or proposal materials
    • Work with marketing teams, as needed, to package market analysis and write-up for delivery to fee-earners
    • Maintain listings and populate various 3rd party and proprietary systems
    • Attend and participate in local sales meetings: Develop market updates; Participate in presenting market updates; Document and respond to action items and requests that are a result of sales meetings
    • Provide Property Level Analytics to fee-earners
    • Manage local Research Analyst(s) where appropriate: Train, supervise and mentor analysts; oversee work performed by analyst(s)

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 5+ years research related experience and 3+ years real estate market analysis related experience
  • Experience in data entry/data management and time series analysis/forecasting
  • Ability to capture, analyze and communicate key market metrics and indicators
  • Highly detail oriented with experience in data entry/data management  
  • Advanced knowledge of CoStar and other relevant systems
  • Proficient in Excel 
  • Professional acumen, understanding of real estate leasing and capital markets business, not just a deep expertise in an individual area or marketplace
  • Economically versed
