The Distinguished Leaders Panel will feature prominent female professionals who touch and support the commercial real estate industry. The event is an opportunity for CREW to hear from women outside of the group who impact commercial real estate development in Utah.
Panelists will share insight to their career path, how they overcame objections, and how they continue to break the glass ceiling. Come ready to be inspired and learn how these panelists move the ball forward for women and our industry.
Josh Caldwell - Panel Moderator
Josh is an experienced and resourceful member of the Salt Lake City Office Leadership Team at Mortenson. As the Business Development Executive in UT, he leads the SLC office’s project pursuits and works to raise awareness for the benefits of Mortenson’s integrated services approach to optimizing real estate assets through design, development, construction and delivery. Josh’s 16 years in the construction industry, and particularly his boots-on-the-ground experience on a wide variety of project types, have helped him develop a leadership approach rooted in a realistic sense of what it takes to overcome challenges and unite a team behind a shared purpose. He believes the best leaders are both bold and humble – bold enough to realize meaningful visions and bring them to fruition, while humble enough to listen. Josh is an irreverent disruptor, a leader, a thinker, a father, and a friend.
Sarah Wright is the Executive Director and founder of Utah Clean Energy, a non-profit non-partisan organization that has been working to advance innovative clean energy and climate solutions in Utah and the West since 2001. Under her leadership, Utah Clean Energy has grown from an all-volunteer group to becoming one of Utah’s most influential experts on clean energy and climate solutions. Sarah has successfully forged partnerships with federal and state agencies, municipal governments, utilities, businesses, and community groups to advance groundbreaking climate policies, programs, and investments in clean energy.
Theresa A. Foxley
A Utah native, Theresa is passionate about promoting the Beehive State. She has served as EDCUtah’s President and CEO since 2017. During her tenure at EDCUtah, Theresa has focused on internal team culture, driving stakeholder value, and economic development preparedness. A recovering attorney and self-described “deal junkie,” Theresa has enjoyed being part of Team Utah’s efforts to attract dozens of companies on expansion and relocation projects representing various industries throughout the state, including Goldman Sachs, Stadler Rail, and Facebook. Prior to joining EDCUtah Theresa was a senior leader at the Utah Governor’s Office of Economic Development. Earlier in her career, Theresa represented a diverse set of clients in private legal practice on a multitude of general corporate and financial matters. Theresa lives in Salt Lake City with her husband and two children. They love spending time outdoors together with their Bernese mountain dog.
Farran Tozer Brown
Farran Tozer Brown joined Vectra Management Group following 20 years of experience as a real estate investment banker, commercial real estate broker and asset manager. At VMG, Farran has primary responsibility for the asset management of the New York and Utah properties of one of VMG’s principal investors. As a real estate M&A banker at JP Morgan and Lazard Freres, Farran worked on all aspects, from initiation to execution, of over $4 billion of office, hotel and apartment transactions for public and private real estate investors, including Lazard’s Real Estate Fund. Subsequently, as a commercial real estate broker at Studley and Cushman & Wakefield, Farran represented tenants, including non-profits, private equity and law firms. Earlier in her career, Farran was an analyst at Lehman Brothers in project finance. In addition, she served on the Executive Committee and as the Chief of Staff of the Royal Academy of Arts in London.
Vectra Management Group (VMG) is a boutique, entrepreneurial real estate investment, development and management company that specializes in complex value added commercial real estate investments both for its own account and as an asset or property manager for others.
