Brooke E. Hontz
Vice President, Development Extell Utah
Brooke Hontz has been a leader in the development and real estate industry for more than 20 years with unique expertise in ski resort community development.
Prior to joining the Extell Development team, Hontz worked with Jack Johnson Company, an internationally acclaimed resort design firm, for more than nine years. As the manager for major resort and master plan community projects, Hontz oversaw complex master planned projects ranging from a start-up mountain resort in Idaho to the most southern ski resort in the US.
In 2007, Hontz founded Daly Summit Consulting (DSC), a land-use consulting firm. As President and Owner of DSC, Hontz managed the development process for a number of ski development projects including Powder Mountain Resort (prepared for proposed sale of more than $100M), the Pioche Development in Utah and Roaring Meg Resort in New Zealand.
She was also instrumental in the creation of the first Military Installation Development Association (MIDA) project area in Wasatch County for the Blue Ledge Resort. Blue Ledge proved to be the seminal land parcel to the nearly 7,000 acre assemblage of what is the Mayflower Mountain Resort.
Hontz received her B.A. from Hartwick College and M.S. from SUNY Environmental Science and Forestry at Syracuse University.
She is an accomplished athlete with full certification in Ski Instruction from the Professional Ski Instructors of America and has taught at Deer Valley Resort 1995-2018 and Hosted for the Resort 2019-present.
In 2015, Hontz was named the Park City Women’s Business Network’s “Woman of the Year.” She has served a full term as a Park City Planning Commissioner, three full terms as a member and then Chair of the Summit County Restaurant Tax Committee, and managed two years as the President of the McPolin Elementary Parent Teacher Organization.
Brooke resides in Deer Valley, UT with her husband, Jonathan, and young daughter.
